Hiking up Snowdon for The Christie - please support us!

Happy Friday! I hope this bulletin finds you well and able to enjoy what is being touted as the hottest day of the year so far.  Sadly Manchester didn’t seem to get this memo as I currently find myself looking out over cloudy skies…

This week we are asking for your help to support us as we hike up Snowdon to raise money for The Christie, Alderhey Children’s Charity and Macclesfield Cancer Help.

Raising money for your chosen charities

We were overwhelmed by the response to our 2020 client survey earlier this year and thanks again to all who took the time to respond and provide feedback.  (The results made interesting reading, so we summarised them by creating an infographic which can be found by clicking here and scrolling down the page.)

One of the questions we asked was whether you would like us to get more involved with any local charities and if so, which ones.  Many of you responded to this question with a resounding ‘yes’ and three of you went on to name specific charities; The Christie, Alderhey Children’s Charity and Macclesfield Cancer Help Group.

With the gauntlet thrown down, we racked our brains to think of a challenge that was sufficiently difficult, whilst being suitable for the whole team to participate in. ‘Tough Mudder’ was initially considered, but strangely enough (unlike Josh) not everyone was enthused by the thought of being battered, dunked and electrocuted over an 8 mile assault course (though there’s always next year?!).

After some further discussion and debate, we eventually settled on a hike up Snowdon, taking the famous Llanberis Path. This route consists of a four hour hike, covering seven kilometres, that will take us to 1,085m above sea level. So still plenty of challenge then! The views from the top are renowned for being absolutely stunning and on a clear day Ireland and the Isle of Man are visible, which should help provide motivation during the ascent. Also we’d be lying if we said the pub at the foot of the descent didn’t also have considerable appeal...

With the promise of a good meal, a pint/ glass of wine or three and the guarantee of not being electrocuted, we were even able to sucker our partners to join us for the climb and help raise money. A big thank you to Will, Cam, Pete, Chloe and Kate for getting involved!

So, with our challenge set and victims corralled, this is where you come in….  Please can you support us in raising money for good causes? We have set up a Just Giving page for this purpose where you can donate securely online, the link for which is below:

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/wetherallsltd

Because of how Just Giving is set up, we have to nominate a single charity to raise for, so we chose The Christie cancer charity, as it is a charity that has helped many of our clients, friends and families over the years.  We will still be supporting Alderhey Children’s Charity and Macclesfield Cancer Help however and Wetherall’s will do this by pledging lump sum donations to them directly.

Any donation that you can make to support us, be it large or small, would be very much appreciated.

In the meantime if you’d like to discuss anything regarding your finances or arrange an ad-hoc review via Zoom please just let us know.
